Iberdrola Price Hike

Well, guess what.... In the light of incresed electricity charges, we have a bill of 12 euros. Good you may say, except that the next bill.... are you getting there.... will be at the new rate. Just for those of you that missed this, that means that the next meter reading will bring forward the old units used (at the old rate) into the new bill at the new rate. Well done Iberdrola yet another legalised scam.

Human Rights

According to TV, growers in Cambodia rig up lights in their fields to catch insects that eat their crops. In Africa, the TV commercials show the plight of people that have no drinking water. If I could inject some reality to the situation. Here in Spain you have to have some pretty nifty paperwork to apply for electricity to your dwelling, and an even better reason for requesting mains drinking water (NB. if you have animals - thats OK). So... difficult to get upset about people in other countries, when we have neither Mains Electricity or Drinking Water!!!!!!!!! - Yes you got it we live in a Finca

Paying Iberdrola Bills

We get an email from Iberdrola when our electricity bill is due. It´s not the actual bill with a barcode etc, it´s just the amount. Anyway, we made a payment one month and accidentally the actual payment was not exactly the same as the amount on the bill. Later that month we had to contact Iberdrola for some reason and they told us that there was an out standing bill. To cut a long story short and to jump over a day spent on the phone to Iberdrola, they could not find the payment (even though we had the bank receipt) and yes, we had to pay again, and no they haven´t refunded us the wrong payment. Moral of the story - get a bill and only pay the exact amount on the bill as they have no system to find who paid it - it looks like it gets put into some sort of Iberdrola suspense account.

How time passes

I remember 30 years ago, in my first house (this was before PC´s, laptops and DVDS) I could not get a bill from Iberdrola, the Electricy supply was not enough for the consumption in the area, and would consequently go off for long periods during the day or night. Our street lights were sometimes on and sometimes off. But the best, was allocating a whole day trying to get through to somebody in their so called customer services, or billing department. Ah how times have changed! - but sadly not with Iberdrola. - Chris

Finally got to the bottom of a long standing problem with Iberdrola. Every time we phoned Iberdrola about electricity bills we got different responses from different people saying we owed (or didn't owe) outstanding amonyts of money. The answer is now obvious.... IBERDROLA DO NOT HAVE A CENTRAL ACCOUNTING SYSTEM!!! and every time you phone and get a different answer - its not because they are incompetent or stupid - It's because they are looking at a different set of records. - Chris

Tennant problems Benidorm

Iberdrola Electricity

My Iberdrola bill was double this month. When I phoned them they said that this month the bill was accurate as they read the meters and the other bills were estimates. They aparently hadn't read the meter for six months. Can I pay them an estimated amount and the rest over six months???
